For Grade 6, we wanted to create a project that we could collaborate with Humanities – and create something that would make an impact on our classroom…and our world.
We decided to join the Puzzle Art Installation, created by Tim Kelly – as we felt his idea – of a growing and traveling group art exhibition all around the world fit perfectly with our intentions.
You don’t have to be an artist to participate, you just have to have something to say.
To gather inspiration, we looked at two artists that are discussing climate change in very different ways in their works. Jill Pelto and Chris Jordan. Students researched them and then choose one of them as their ‘inspiration’. They were also encouraged to add other artists and ideas to develop their composition.
Our final works will be joined with Mrs. Denson’s Grade 6 Class and displayed on the walls of SIS Bayside. Stay tuned!
