For this project, Grade 6 are exploring typographical art – and how to choose their words well.
First students brainstormed some ideas of what words would work – they needed something creative – yet a shape that would lend itself to the actual word. Stay tuned for pictures of their brainstorming ideas.
Once they got their design sorted, they had to cut out their design from acetate creating their matrix. This was tricky – as we encountered some things we didn’t consider – like how to use joiners to make sure the inside letter details stayed on the matrix. When their matrix was completed – and they were happy with it – they printed their AP (Approved Print) using only black.
Our final APs – ready to print!
