The Pendulum Experiment

September 25, 2013 by ahomi1

Today in science, we explored the changing of variables in our swingers experiment. We made 17 new swingers of different lengths to find out if the length affects the number of swings in 15 seconds-and it did! We found out that the longer the pendulum, the fewer the swings and the shorter the pendulum the greater the swings. We extracted the data and created two different types of pictorial graphs. We also found out that mass and release position do not affect the number of swings of a pendulum, only length does.

It is great to see the hands-on learning you all are engaged in. I can’t wait to see what hypothesis and predictions you make because of what you learned today!
