My name is Anton Musker and this is my second year at Shekou International School. Prior to moving here, I was teaching for two years at an international school in Beijing. I have also lived and taught in both Qatar and England. 2017 is my eighth year in teaching and my fifth year in Grade 3, with the other years having been spent teaching in Grades 1 and 2, as well as EAL (I am a certified EAL teacher).
In England, I attended Oxford Brookes University, which is where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Primary (Elementary) Teacher Education, with a specialism in gifted and talented education. I am currently in the second year of a three year part-time masters degree in education (with focuses on educational leadership and the use of technology in education) through a distance learning course from the University of Bath.
I became a teacher for a simple, yet strong reason. I believe that if the standard of education is improved for all students around the globe, then they will be able to use their increased knowledge, wellbeing, and attitudes to positively influence those and that which is around them, thus making the world a better place for all of us to live. I believe in supporting and teaching each of my students to achieve their maximum potential, whilst developing their own unique identities. My passion in education is for students to develop high levels of independence so that they can become life long learners.
I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you and your child better throughout the year. Communication between school and home is important; if you ever have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to contact me.
