Students will work on learning more about life cycles, inherited traits, behavioral traits and how animals survive. They are choosing their own animal to research and they will create a poster to present their learning to the class.
Mathematicians will apply their knowledge of area with an emphasis on real-world applications by solving word problems. The word problems provide a stepping-stone for the real-world, project-based application of area.
Writers will continue to move through the writing process, working on their persuasive speeches. Students will draw attention to editing strategies such as “edit as they go!” This involves growing in their awareness around using capitalization, punctuation, spelling and grammar choices.
In reading we will be focusing on how primary and secondary characters interact and feel their character feel on the inside vs. how they feel on the outside. We are also focusing on predictions, summarizing and asking questions.
