Don’t Miss Out!! Join the fun. I think your child has probably already told you about Book Character Day. Here is another reminder.
On Friday, March 16 SIS Primary students will dress up as book characters.
Your child can celebrate reading and books by creating a book character costume.
GET CREATIVE with your child and enjoy this authentic project; have fun while promoting the love of story and reading.
Don’t miss this opportunity.
We will have a Book Week assembly on Friday, March 16 for K – grade 5 students and it will be exciting to see all the ideas and celebrate our shared love of reading by dressing up. Early Years students can also choose to dress up as we have Books Come Alive on the 16th. (games based on books)
If you and your child are looking for ideas you can do an image search on the internet using the search terms “simple book character costume for children” or “book character parade”. Or brainstorm and come up with an original costume idea for a character.
I wonder who your child will choose or has chosen to be?
The photos above are of some parents and teachers who dressed up at SIS in years past. We had a lot of fun being creative and even more fun the day of our Book Character Events. This year is a student dress up event and it is going to be FANTASTIC!!
The students are excited and many have already shared with me their plans. Get involved in this authentic project. There is still time to get ready. (Friday, March 16 is our Book Character Day.)
March 16 is also the same day for Books Come Alive hosted by our PSA!
