About Mr. Denson

August 2018 Greetings, Welcome to 3rd grade and a new school year. As a returning member of SIS’s team of educators, I look forward to working with your child. In 3A we foster a natural curiosity of learning and a desire for success within our classroom community by encouraging critical thinking & kindness. I attended the University of Arizona in the U.S. receiving my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. I recently earned a Master of Science further advancing my pedagogical skillset. This is my twelfth year as an educator, and after spending four years teaching fifth grade in the Andean mountains of Quito, Ecuador, I’m delighted to be living here in innovative Shenzhen. During my free time I enjoy new learning experiences, exploring, and developing meaningful relationships. While living in Ecuador, I recently married my best friend Alli, who teaches high school art here at SIS; we have a passion for travel which allows us to build new perspectives, explore new lands, and connect with people around the world. Reading and photography are my passions. To stay active, I enjoy strength training, running and bicycling. The best thing we can do in life is add value, everyday, no matter how big or how small by being thoughtful. Each one of us are natural educators and natural learners with the capacity to add value to the world around us. Through our team of educators and classroom community I am confident we can help our students embrace their own curiosity, innovate and add value wherever they find themselves across the globe. Warm regards, Charles Denson
