My name is Susan Kim and this is my seventh year here at SIS! For my first five years at SIS I was a fourth grade teacher. I then became a fifth grade teacher last year. I am excited to join the fourth grade team again this year but as an EAL support teacher!
I am Korean-American and originally hail from Philadelphia, the city that has become synonymous with the Declaration of Independence, cheesesteaks, and Rocky! I graduated with a BA in English from Temple University and received my Master’s degree in Childhood Education (1-6) from Hunter College. Before arriving in China, my husband and I previously taught for three years in Caracas, Venezuela. Prior to that, we taught in Brooklyn, New York in the United States. I enjoy reading, traveling, yoga, and spending time with my family.
I am both an SIS teacher and a parent. My daughters Penny and Lucy will be in PreK1 and PreK2 this year. I consider myself a lifelong learner and am looking to continually refine my skills as a teacher. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. I know that this is going to be a great year!
