As a reflection of what they learned during our field trip to the Shenzhen Museum, grade 3 students made an iMovie explaining what they noticed has changed in Shenzhen during the past 30+ years.
Some of the pictures they saw from Shekou, Futian or Luohu helped them to understand how and why resources affect where people live. They also used those pictures to make their iMovie.

This morning, kindergarteners and third graders met for the first time. They got to know each other and look for a “nest”, like kindergarteners like to said, to read together. They went into an adventure, exploring the book and looking the pictures. Then, the big buddies read the book to their little buddies.
Last Tuesday we launched our Reader’s Workshop. During the past days, 3A readers have sketched and talked about one of their favourite reading memories, learned appropriate behaviours for partner discussions by chatting about their favourite book, and previewed a book for appropriate level, interest and text features.
They have also learned how the class library is organized, what to do with misplaced books and when and how often to choose books.
In addition,we have discussed class goals for Reading in the Workshop, and students have set their own personal goals.
And they have, of course, read, read, and read.
