It’s been an amazing year.
Have a great summer everyone.
What a fun event! Well done third graders!
Below you can see some pictures and videos of the swimmers.
As part of the curriculum for our science unit, Structures of Life, where we are studying the structures, functions, and habitats of plants and animals, yesterday we went to Hong Kong Wetlands.
Thanks parents helpers for coming along and chaperoning our students.
Below you can see some pictures from the field trip.
On Wednesday we visited the Art Show and wrote all sort of poems about several pieces we really liked using adjectives to describe them.
Yesterday we tried a new strategy to describe what we see. We pretended to have a blind person next to us and we wrote down everything we remembered from that specific piece of art, so that the blind person could see it through our words.
One of my students came up with this.
Can you recognise the piece she is describing?
This week we launched our new unit for science, “Structures of Life.”
Students learned that size, shape, color, texture, smell, and other features are characteristics of a fruit called properties.
We described the properties of different fruits and seeds and sort them.
This weekend, your child will begin to look for photos for their autobiographies. They will have 4 chapters, and need at least one photo per chapter. Below I’ve listed the chapters and suggestions for types of photos you might send in. You can send actual photos which students can take pictures of with their iPad, or you may send me digital copies.
– Chapter 1: My Birth (a baby picture)
– Chapter 2: My Family (a family photo, child with siblings or parents)
– Chapter 3: My Home / Where I Have Lived (a picture of your house in your home country)
– Chapter 4: (Students choose one) Interesting Facts About Me (a picture of student doing a hobby) / My Hopes and Wishes (a picture of what they’d like to do when they grow up)/ My Favorite Holiday (a picture from a favorite vacation/holiday)
If you have any questions, please do let me know. Thanks!
Yesterday 3A enthusiastic learners had a blast sharing their growth that happened this year in their journey to learn.
Thank you parents for coming to celebrate your child’s learning with us, and for all your support during the whole year. We couldn’t do it with you!
