After reading the Eric Carle story ‘Papa, please get the Moon for me’, we are beginning to explore the moon and night sky. The children are interested in sharing their own ideas inspired by the story, discussing how they think we could get to the moon. As a result we are going to investigate over the coming weeks.
To start our project, we began talking about the differences we notice between day time and night time. The children have noticed that the colors we see are very different, that we only see the sun in the day time but sometimes we see the moon during the day time and at night time, and that we see stars at night time.
The children are generating lots of ideas through our beginning discussions and we are so excited to see where their imaginations take us during this new project. Stay tuned to see what happens next.
