Week 19 @PreK1A, Brave Bears – We can work together!

It is evidence that the Brave Bears have grown after the winter break. They are beginning to follow rules and directions more consistently and are able to relay instructions to others.

During PE time, the Brave Bears had played a game with rules, “Bulldozers and Builders.” One team was the bulldozer and the other team was the builders. The bulldozers had a great time knocking down the “building” while the builders had difficulty from keeping the “buildings” standing. It was a bit chaotic at the beginning, but eventually, the Brave Bears and Superheroes got the rules of the game.

During exploration time, the Brave Bears find out which sticks were long and short from the sticks that they found from the secret garden. Picking sticks were inspired by the story “Stick & Stone by Beth Ferry and Tom Lichtenheld. Next, the Brave Bears will be asked what can they make with a stick and a stone.

Lastly, during Friday cooking, the Brave Bears sorted out together the oranges (small, medium & big).

….and of course, they made the orange juice together! 🙂 What do you think the Brave Bears will make next time?

MS Buddies

This week, the Brave Bears’ MS Buddies introduced the importance of water and asked them how to save water. The Brave Bears also learned that if you don’t drink water you will get smaller and smaller.

Then, the Brave Bears had a chance to experiment with water. Most of them saved the water by slurping it. 🙂

“Carefully blow air through the straw in an attempt to move the water to the other side of the wax paper without it breaking apart into separate droplets. This simulates the journey some people must take to transport clean water back to their villages without spilling a drop. *Note: the bigger the water droplet, the more of a challenge it will be to keep the water from breaking into multiple droplets.”
