What is School Spirit?
School spirit is the sense of identity and community shared by members of an educational institution. This can apply to any type of school, from elementary schools to universities. Members of a school can manifest spirit in the exhibition of school colors in dress and decoration, in attendance at athletic events, or verbally in the form of chants or cheers.
School spirit is the attitude students and teachers have about their school as well as their attitudes toward each other in and out of the classroom. When positive school spirit is promoted, students are motivated to work harder, academically and/or athletically.
Having defined School Spirit, this Friday is the first School Spirit Day of SIS (the first of many more to come during the year!). At the Parkside and Mountainside campus, the School Spirit Days are organized by the Elementary Students’ Student Council (ES STUCO)
It’s TWINS or TRIPLET DAY!
Ask a friend/s to be your twin or triplet by coming to school in the similar clothes or outfit on Friday!
