About Mr. D
My name is Peter Damroth. I was born on Long Island, New York; but I did not inherit that accent. I lived in North Carolina the majority of my life; though I don’t believe I have the southern accent either. After graduating from Barton College in Wilson, NC with my teaching license, I went back to my alma mater to attain my master’s. I have been a teacher the past nine years and am ready to start my tenth fun-filled year. I absolutely love to travel and have been privileged to visit numerous places in North America, Europe, & Asia. I love experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. Besides traveling, I also enjoy reading, art, running, and teaching of course.
I am overjoyed to hear that SIS will be an IB PYP candidate school. I was with my last school the entire candidacy phase and was overjoyed when we were authorized as an IB World School. I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of the PYP curriculum as it encompasses international mindedness and instilling transdisciplinary skills. I’m ready to start the process anew at such an incredible place as Shekou International School.
I’m simply ecstatic to continue my adventure and second year teaching at SIS.
