I agree about how racism is all over the world and how it should bo stopped. I also was discriminated once because of my culture and it feels like I want to just hide underground. This incident made me stand against the racism.
I liked how you used the example of a refugee kid being teased.
Alex, it was a very nice podcast. I never knew you had these experience and my favorite quote was Racism is a cancer to a community. I also disagree with it and I experienced it many times. For me, incident of people saying bad stuff about my country made me kind of hide behind. I liked how you used the example of a refugee kid being teased
Hi Alex ,
I really loved your piece it was very relatable , I really liked the honesty it really shines through ? Good job
Racism: “It’s an anti-human ideal”. #truth That line alone delivers a powerful claim.
Cowardice: “Walking away [from discrimination] made me feel terrible… I was paralyzed; I just stood there, watching.”
Bravery: Not forgetting that moment, and what’s more, sharing that moment publicly on a podcast.
I think you nail the reason why racism is hard to eradicate: the fear of interfering, of stepping out of a comfort zone, or rather stepping into what would end up to be a disastrous result, is what makes us become paralyzed sometimes and change therefore, slow in coming. But stories matter, and yours is a reflective one that prompts each of us to think. I love that, and I hope people truly hear you to be encouraged into action, to be that single person who believes s/he will be one day a part of EVERYone who can make difference. Thank you for your bravery in sharing your story, Alex!
I liked how you decided to talk about racism. I agree about how racism is all over the world and how it should stop. I liked how you used the example of a refugee kid who was getting teased. It would have been an awful experience of racism. I really like the quote as well.
I liked how you did your topic about racism. People are getting left out everyday. I want to help stop racism. I wish you could have done a better job as a bystander and I liked how you experienced it and now you can do better and make a good choice next time. Thank you
Your voice comes through crystal clear, with facts tunneling down to your own experience as a bystander. Funny how a choice, stand up for someone and be outnumbered or walk away and live with the guilt. Such a fast decision and something that seems so little with such huge repercussions.
Thank you for your honesty, hope, and reflection. Your last line sums it up.
