Join the PSA in a new initiative to teach our children the importance of giving to children in need.
Box of Hope is a Hong Kong based, annual charity project aimed at providing USEFUL and EDUCATIONAL gifts to underprivileged children in Asia or in our case, in China, donated by school children and local organizations. It’s very simple. You help your child, first, to decorate a shoe sized box; fill it with NEW, interesting, and educational gifts; and drop the box off at a specified collection point from November 3 – 7. This year’s collection points will be the Bayside lobby, Parkside lobby and ECLC lobby in front of the director’s office. The boxes are then collected and delivered directly to the children in need.
Some of these children have never received a gift.
This year’s gifts will be donated to Half the Sky, a not-for-profit organization that is present throughout China. SIS’s donations will go straight to the Shenzhen branch of Half the Sky.
“Half the Sky was created in order to enrich the lives of orphaned children in China. We provide model programs and caregiver training designed to offer loving, family-like care to children of all ages and abilities. It is our goal to ensure that every orphaned child has a caring adult in her life and a chance at a bright future. – www.halfthesky.org
Please join us in our effort to make a few children feel special and loved through the donation of as many boxes as possible. It’s a small sacrifice for us, but the benefits for these children are immeasurable.
