Here’s a look at what’s happening for the month of March. We have a lot of interesting and fun learning headed our way.
READING-continuing with our Historical Fiction and our read aloud of Rosa Parks. (The woman who stood up to racism and segregation in the 1950s) . Lots of interesting and enlightening discussions on the Montgomery Bus Boycott and Civil Rights Movement. Students will choose an Historical Fiction chapter book of their own and can do the following:
- write a book review
- write a synopsis/ summary of book
- do a timeline of events

UOI -“How We Express Ourselves” and our Central Idea: How living thing process and respond to information in different ways for survival. Students will be creating a media book on their app “Book Creator”. (See Rubric below).
WRITING- we are focusing on Information writing and it will be a combined effort with our UOI. We will continue learning how to use research, practice note-taking skills and other educational tools to write informative essays about our topics. (See Rubric below).
MATH- We begin our Module 5: Fractions/Topic A: Decomposition and Fraction Equivalent (1-6) (see Math Standards below).
