Our SIS Geckos got the chance to do a homestay, eat traditional food and listen to stories from the elders. What a wonderful  opportunity to hear from the owner of the homestay, Uncle Li, around the campfire tonight. He told stories of the cultural revolution and the great reform. He has lived in the same farm house for 65 years. Our students also got to translate Uncle Yang’s story. He was a music teacher so he favored us with a welcome song. Uncle yang talked  about the Bai minorities and life in Shaxi for the past 60 years.  It is a true authentic experience when you get to hear from locals about the traditions and life of the Chinese people in Shaxi.
